Half Moon Mani Week 6

For this weeks challenge I turned my Hot Pink Color Zone mani into my Half Moon mani. I added Orly's 'Goth' and a light bubblegum pink for the dots with an nail art polish then topped it all with a thick coat of SV.

I used the tried and true method of using the paper reinforcer dots to block the cuticle creating the half moon design. This time however I cut them in half and it made it much easier to seat them tightly on my nail.

Then I decided to change it up a bit and do an accent nail. It looks like the negative of the others.

Then just for V-Day I thought I would try adding a few hearts :D

These are my new Red Angle plate designs that I haven't played with much. I was kind of in a hurry to get out the door and get my errands done so I rushed it and was rewarded for my impatience with some smudging and then a little streaking because I didn't let it dry :P When will I learn!

I still got a few compliments on it while out and about. I think we're all more critical of our own work. No one else looks as closely to see all our 'flaws' and goofs :)

  2. I love the dots along the half-moon area! And the hearts are a nice touch :)

Very true, no one looks as closely to see the flaws as the author/painter/nail polisher (hm, I'm having a hard time naming ourselves this morning) does.

  6. @Jackie- Thank You! I love that stamp too. I have to get used to the Red Angle plates though because they are cut much deeper that the Bundle Monsters. They hold more polish and therefore are easier to smudge ;/ but I love them!

@Fingers- Thanks Dude!lol They were a little over the top for me but I still enjoed wearing it for a couple days.

@KB- Thanks! Yeah, I thought it needed a little something extra at the moon and the dots gave it a unique feel I think. I agree we should all be a little more complimentary to ourselves :D and I tink were are all the above- painters, artists, authors, nail polishing fanatics.... !

@Amy- Thanks! I had fun doing it.

@DragonLady- Thanks so much! That is so nice of you to give my first award!!!! <3

@Nail Diva- Thanks, I just saw your blog too and ditto! :D

  8. I'm trying to catch up on everyone's nail art from past posts, since I'm just getting started, and saw this today... guess what? I bought a Red Angel bundle for my first set of plates, and this exact heart design was what I used for my Valentine's mani this week, and also it's my very first stamping! You're posts are great, thanks for sharing, and Happy Valentine's 2012!
